The Norwegian Oil Fund´s 20 Years with External Managers

Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM) have released two pieces of content that should be a must read/watch for anyone in the Nordic Investment community.

The first is a management review of NBIM´s first 20-year history of investing with external managers. The external managers have played an important role in fulfilling the fund’s mandate of the highest possible return after costs with a moderate risk. This review describes the strategy NBIM have pursued when selecting mandate types and offers an insight into their thinking and the lessons they have learned.

The second is a “virtual talk” where CEO, Yngve Slyngstad, and Global Head of External Strategies, Erik Hilde, takes you through NBIM´s 20-year journey of investing with external managers. They also bring you on a virtual travel to meet two of our external managers, located in Shanghai and London.
